English Raspberries

Sometimes it is hard to define the differences between American and British culture. While watching some MTV equivalent, I learned that Iron Maiden had scored a #1 hit in the UK in 1990 with the song "Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter". On the US side, we awarded the same song a "Golden Raspberry" for the "Worst Original Song" in 1989.

You decide, do you side with the Brits or the Americans on this one (keeping in mind it was 1990)?

Awesome. It totally rocks. 1990, 2008, it doesn't matter. Pure hard rock power. They should re-release it.

Viviane thinks it stinks.

I don’t know if I would call this #1 hit, but it isn’t horrible considering the era. It would be hard to compete with Def Leopard as they were tearing up the American charts at that time. I find the lyrics to be not overly complex, so that they can be sung while loaded on smack. Mumble and repeat……

Considering that Iron Maiden has always sucked, I'll go out on a limb and say that the Brits messed that one up!
